No clarity on Warriors' home venue as CPL announces 2019 schedule

Trinbago Knight Riders take on St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in the tournament opener on September 4.

The 2019 Caribbean Premier League will kick-start with defending champions Trinbago Knight Riders' game against St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in Trinidad on September 4. The final will take place on October 12 at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad.
So far, only the games in Barbados, Jamaica, St Lucia, St Kitts & Nevis and Trinidad & Tobago have been confirmed. The venue for Guyana Amazon Warriors's home games is yet to be announced, and so are the venues for the Eliminator and Qualifier 1, both of which are scheduled for October 6.
Last year, Warriors played all their home games at the Providence Stadium, Guyana, including Qualifier 1.
Earlier staled to begin on August 21, the dates for CPL were pushed forward to avoid a clash with India's tour of the West Indies. That will ensure availability of West Indies players for the CPL, which will stretch across 34 games this year, as well as for the India series.
"We are delighted with how CPL continues to grow," CPL CEO Damien O'Donohoe said. "Last season we saw more than 200 million viewers watch the tournament and CPL also made a huge impact on the economies of the countries we visited. We are certain that this year we will see those numbers grow once again."
